Your first year's dues are covered

The Post pays a new member's dues for the first year. Joining costs you nothing to start.

Who can join

You can join the VFW if you served honorably, or are serving now, and any one of these is true:

  • You earned a campaign or expeditionary medal, ribbon or badge.
  • You received hostile fire pay or imminent danger pay.
  • You served in Korea for 30 consecutive days or 60 days in all.

It is usually on your DD-214. Not sure? Bring it along and we'll work it out together, or check VFW national's list ↗.

Not eligible for the VFW?

Family members and supporters can get involved through our VFW Auxiliary, and everyone is welcome at our public events and hall rentals. Ask us how.

What happens next

  1. Come to a meeting, or send the interest form.
  2. A Post officer confirms your eligibility and answers your questions.
  3. Bring your DD-214 or other proof of service. The Post handles the paperwork and covers your first year's dues.

A Post that's growing

Most of our members are Post 9/11 veterans, and we welcome service members from all eras. VFW national headquarters awarded us a streamer for reaching 101% in membership for the 2025–26 program year, which means we finished the year with more members than the year before.
